FREQUENT QUESTIONS

Reiki versus sects ?

Reiki is a teaching, an energetic technique as yoga, tai-chi etc. and not a religion.  The title of master Reiki can be mistaken as a sect but the term master comes from the Japanese term which means: Teacher or master in that field and not guru.

Certain teacher masters can add their own philosophy of life.  But if it is done in the respect of the person’s choice, it is simply a sharing of opinions.

You may be alert to certain criteria’s for example:

- Asking for a lot of money
- A rupture with its environment
- Violation of physical integrity
- Antisocial remarks
- Justice Problems

How do you justify the price of Reiki initiations?

All work deserves a salary encounters certain expenses.  It is difficult to establish a price list, certain are very high.  In United States, it is three times the price, in France it is another price.

We figure  4 to 5 hours, for an initiation including the teachings.  Further more, we also give a booklet, more information, the certificate, sometimes a meal.  We can shop around, but most of the time we choose a master for an instinctive reason.  Universal laws work in a way that when we need it, we cross on our path the person and tools needed to pursue evolution.

REIKI can never be tied to money because it is a form of energy. We do not pay REIKI, but the REIKI teacher’s time and the information materiel. We have to see that the relation between the teacher and the person initiated is respectful, responsible and loving.

An initiation to REIKI is a gift that we give ourselves, a gift that stays, -even rarely used– for life and that has an effect on the person, its family and environment.

Reiki, healing and its medical recognition where do we stand?

Reiki practicians are not healers. They are care takers.  At the least, we consider it as a relaxation technique. There are doctors who suggest to their patient to get initiated or to receive treatments, especially after an operation or cancer treatment chemo)
In my area, I have a friend who is asked mostly by doctors for assistance to dying people at the hospital.  Carole Normand

Are there dangers or secondary effects to get initiated to Reiki ?

After an initiation, a lot of energy can be accumulated in an area which is not used to receiving it. Which can cause unbalance and bring a certain uneasiness (dizziness, head ache, irritations, heart palpitations, diarrhoea, stomach pain, recalls of bad memories, etc?)

If you do not wish to change anything in your life, stay away from Reiki which acts as a change catalyser. Certain people do not get any difficult effect and others know overthrows in their life.

Any initiation is a ‘risk’, and not only in Reiki. It is not a game or a simple course. The decision comes from us, to know that it is our personal path, an inside need.

It is good to get prepared and most of the time your initiator will be able to accompany you during this period of after-initiation. Carole Normand Her site
